Authentic Dutch Stroopwafels, Handmade in Canada
because some traditions just need to be shared
It all started in 1984, when Arie Schep brought his Dutch roots and love of baking to North America. From a small local bakery, he began crafting the classic stroopwafel, made with two thin, crisp waffles and a layer of smooth caramel in between. Today, his three sons proudly carry on the tradition, baking every stroopwafel with the same care and authentic recipe their father perfected.
We use real ingredients you can feel good about, from rich butter to our signature caramel filling. Each stroopwafel is crafted to be crisp, chewy, and full of flavor. Whether enjoyed with coffee, tea, or as a snack on the go, our treats bring a little taste of the Netherlands to homes across Canada and the USA.
Our bakery is based in Canada and is still family owned and operated. We are in the bakery every day, overseeing each step of the process to ensure quality. We know exactly what we are making and sending, and we never rely on third-party manufacturers. Every batch reflects our commitment to freshness and authenticity.
For over 40 years, our family has been baking stroopwafels with love and care. From Arie’s original dream in 1984 to the work we do every day in our Canadian bakery, every batch carries our passion, tradition, and attention to detail.
Now, Arie and his three sons continue the legacy together, crafting every cookie with the same dedication that started it all. From our family to yours, thank you for welcoming Double Dutch into your home. We hope every bite brings a little joy and sweetness to your day.
